Celebration of the James Film Series

The RVA Environmental Film Festival, James River Association, and Richmond Public Libraries are proud to present the RPL Local Environmental Film Program, or “Celebration of the James Film Series”. It is kicking off on June 14 at 1:30 pm at the Main Library downtown. It will feature local documentary films about the James River, including some of the winning entries from the RVA Environmental Film Festival 2014 Local Documentary Contest. “James River Sturgeon” (Melissa Lesh), “Belle Isle” (Briget Ganske), “Affair With The James” (Elli Morris), “Dumping Ground To Best River Town” (James River Association), to name a few. We hope to have a few filmmakers at each stop to talk and answer questions, as well as some coloring sheets and displays. It is designed to be a family-friendly environmental education program.

Other dates at other Richmond library branches will be announced soon.

Style Weekly and The Times Dispatch list the West End Library on June 24th, as presenting one of the films. The Richmond Public Library does not have anything scheduled on their website calender of events. Perhaps your organization can communicate with RPL to confirm that this will take place.
